Year-end spurt 2022 and outlook for 2023

Dear readers,

during the Sroda Tour in October it hit me – pressure on the chest, nausea and sweating – as it turned out afterwards it was a heart attack. In the Bundeswehrklinik in Berlin I got a stent and now I have to go to rehab in Bad Schandau for 3 weeks. Until the middle of December everything should be ok again.

As a result, Peter Minder will be managing the R 12 snow sling tour alone – he got all the information for it from me. We have sent the tour info to all participants today.

Albert Lehmann will take over the Öchsle Winter Steam Tour on December 17, if it comes off. We are still missing 5 - 6 paying participants, if we have not reached the minimum number of participants by the end of November, we will cancel the tour. So book quickly if you are interested in the 99 633 in the snow. And you don't know if and when she will return …

I have used the recovery time to update our 2023 tour program as far as it is possible from today's point of view (please check our website for details):

  • Muskau: Winter at the Forest Railway – estimated 20. and 21. January 2023
  • Berlin: 16.erotic photoshoot – 11. and 12. February 2023
  • Winter steam in the Pressnitz Valley on February 28 and March 1, 2023
  • Winter steam at Fichtelberg on March 2 and 3, 2023
  • Poland: Narrow gauge steam in Kösslin on April 12 and 13, 2023 (in planning)
  • Poland: Narrow gauge steam in Sroda on April 15 and 16, 2023

  • Autumn Steyr Valley Railway from 29 September - 1 October 2023
  • Eritea: Steam at the red sea (ahead 1. November week 2023)

We are in the starting blocks and look forward to seeing all Tanago railway enthusiasts again after a long absence from steam.

Without going into too much detail here, Mongolia in Autumn has a new date, if we get a few more bookings here we can confirm now. The flights currently still cost 700 euros, if we wait until shortly before the end, we are here again at 1200 euros, so please in your own interest if you are interested, book quickly.

We will approach the Polish narrow-gauge railroads Kösslin and Sroda organizationally from Berlin. Who wants to travel to Berlin, there we rent minibuses and drive together to Kösslin and Sroda and back to Berlin. More info in the next weeks on our website.

Eritrea 2023 will take place either in the last week of October, but more likely in the first week of November 2023. There is still the line interruption at Ghinda, so we drive in the upper section, which is also the more charming with the tunnels, the hairpin bends and the fabulous mountain scenery. To use are 3 - 4 Italian Maletts, and the B- coupler and of course various trains.

For me, 2023 will be the last Tanago year as a "solo entertainer", probably I will get support from friends at the latest after that, who will take over one or the other tour and then also perform it alone under the mantle of Tanago. We are working on the solution at the moment, because from 2023 on I will retire more and more to be able to dedicate myself to other beautiful things.

Stay healthy, maybe we meet again on December 17th at the Öchsle.
Greetings from Berlin, Michael
