We have already been guests on the Ybbstalbahn several times with our photo tours. We were all the more shocked when we learned of the intention to close the Ybbstalbahn and build a cycle path on the line.
That's why we are offering a pre-program lasting several days before the 3 days on the Mariazell Railway with 1099.11 and 1099.14.
- Thursday, June 6, 2024: with 2093.01 on the Ybbstalbahn
- Friday, June 7, 2024: With steam locomotive U 1 from Kienberg over the steep line to Lunz am See.
- Saturday, June 8, 2024: Steam on the Krumpe with Mh.6 and a freight train in Era I.
- Sunday, June 9, 2024: Today the scheduled steam train of the Mariazell Railway runs (without calculation).
- Monday, June 10, 2024: Today we take the Yv 1 out of the shed and drive with a passenger train supplemented by 2 freight cars over the mountain route of the Ybbstalbahn.
On the Ybbstalbahn mountain line, we travel from Kienberg over the steep line to Lunz am See with the steam locomotive U1, which has been put back into service after a long period of storage, and the Yv 1. There are of course suitable photo stops on the trestlework bridges typical of this line and in the striking rock cuttings. Our train takes on water at the historic Pfaffenschlag station before continuing towards Lunz.
As is customary with Tanago, all participants travel on the train, and on the transfer routes we "decorate" the locomotive and carriage with high-visibility vests, as non-paying onlookers are absolutely undesirable on this trip.
On our last trips, we were able to take many beautiful pictures along the route and discovered even more interesting motifs to be realized.
