IV KSaxony narrow gauge steam locomotive Tanago railfan tours photo charters

At night on the Wendelstein with the HGe 2/2

Thursday, October 10 and Saturday, October 12, 2024

We have already been up to the Wendelstein 4 times with the old class HG 2/2 locomotives for photo runs. This is no longer possible as the new locomotive is so fast that the old locomotives have been put to one side and are no longer used. For this reason, staff have also been reduced, which is why it is almost impossible to repeat these legendary actions from 2020 and 2021.

But we wouldn't be Tanago if the issue hadn't kept us busy. Unfortunately, nothing can be done during the peak season either, as there are not enough staff for additional photo runs and the frequency with the new locomotive is too fast, as no other train can fit "in between". As we had been very lucky with the weather on all our previous photo tours, another day trip was out of the question for us anyway. So the idea came up that we wanted to go back up to the Wendelstein with an old locomotive, but then at night.

As usual with Tanago, all participants travel on the train and get off at the most beautiful sections of the line to take photos. We will illuminate the most spectacular photo spots for you with our professional lighting equipment. We also make sure that the chapel and the mountain inn are illuminated that night.

As we are in the high mountains, surefootedness and absolute discipline are required of the participants. In some cases, we only set up the train in one place and take turns photographing, which is why the event is mainly designed for photographers. We can only take participants who are physically fit.

If you book both days, you can take the opportunity on the intermediate day to explore the Zillertal or Achensee Railway on your own.
