The "Sauschwänzlebahn" runs from Blumberg-Zollhaus to Weizen over four bridges and through six tunnels on 25 km of track. The longest tunnel, the large stockpile, is what gives the "Sauschwänzlebahn" its name: The route in the tunnel is reminiscent of a curled pig's tail. The Wutachtalbahn is one of the most spectacular museum railroads of all. Built in 1890 for strategic military considerations, the line was named one of Germany's historic engineering landmarks in 2014.
Already In October 2019, we let it steam properly on the Wutachtalbahn. 50 2988 (1942 WFL) hauled several photo trains in the style of the DB, formed from 3- and 4-axle conversion cars plus baggage cars, as well as differently composed mixed trains for us. This time we are joined by the 64 419 of the DBK with its Bundesbahn freight train. With this "material" we run freight trains in authentic DB lettering. This is not a car chase (exception is the feed of the 64 with freight train on Wednesday), but professionally organized photo trains to ride along. At the most beautiful places on the route we get off, reset and film or take photos without the usual hectic pace of car chases.

64 419 transfers its freight train, consisting of 9 freight cars and a carboose through the upper Danube valley. All participants will receive the time table to be able to take photos or videos along the route. However, no extra photo stops will be made.

Today, 64 419 is hauling a freight train consisting of 9 freight cars and a Pwghs, in which the participants are riding. In the evening, night photos together with the already fired up 50 2988 at the coal crane in Fützen.

This morning we string another freiht with 64 419, which will be taken over by 50 2988 at noon. The photo and video intensive day will be rounded off with sunset pictures (let us surprise you).
Saturday and Sunday, May 27th and 28th, 2023
On both days, 50 2988 will man the Musemszug (passenger car) of the Sauschwänzlebahn and run as scheduled. This makes the longest or most strenuous journey to the Sauschwänzlebahn worthwhile for all participants, because 5 days of steam operation on standard gauge tracks cannot be enjoyed every day, especially not at this price.
Travel price
3-day total program on the Sauschwänzlebahn from May 24 - 26, 2023 (without meals, without hotel), including night photography - 1.150 euros.
Single days:
Wednesday, May 24, 2023 - program as advertised - 280 euros, including night shots.
Thursday, May 25, 2023 - program, as advertised - 500 euros, with sunset pictures.
Friday, May 26, 2023 - program, as advertised - 600 Euro.
